Scheduler's Workbench
Readily see all jobs on the shop floor, their status, operations and materials from a single screen!
Problem... Shop floor managers must react to day-to-day changes in workload and schedules across their floor. To do this they need constant, up-to-date data on the status of each job in the shop, and the ability to quickly spot problems with these jobs such as late operations and material shortages. While SyteLine provides various screens and reports that together can give the shop manager the “big picture”, it requires switching between multiple screens and paper and assembling the picture in one’s mind - a time consuming process, and one requiring concentration from a person who is typically interrupted frequently. Thus, without a way to easily view shop status and drill down to the details, problem jobs often get overlooked.
Solution... LogicData’s Scheduler’s Workbench provides a single screen from which the shop manager – or anyone – can view the full shop floor job status. This powerful tool provides the user with the ability to answer questions fast and get the data needed for decision-making. Once the user spots an action to take, the Scheduler’s Workbench gives him direct access to the SyteLine screens required to implement those changes.
Scheduler’s Workbench answers these questions and more:
- What jobs do I have on the floor
- What is the status of each job? Firm, Released, Stopped? On-Time, Late?
- What jobs do I have for a specific customer?
- What jobs do I have for a specific item?
- What jobs are in which cells?
- Do I have adequate materials for a specific job?
- What is this job’s schedule in relation to other jobs?
- How much of this job is complete?
- Where exactly is this job on my shop floor? What work center?
- How many pieces of this job have been completed at each work center? Scrapped? Moved?
With the Schedulers’s Workbench, the shop manager can:
- See all the jobs on the floor at one time.
- Sort the jobs by item, start-date, end-date, customer or cell. (By clicking on the column heading.)
- Tell instantly what jobs are late or on time, what jobs are released, firm or stopped.
- See graphically a jobs start and end on a calendar, along with its associated operations.
- Know exactly where a job is as it crosses the floor.
- Know what materials a job needs and whether there are adequate supplies available.
- Drill down directly to all associated data for a job: job header, operation, material, item master, customer order, material data, inventory availability.
- Drill down directly to all associated capacity planning screens for the job or cell.
- Jump to the job-scheduling screen to change the job’s schedule as needed.
